The FlaggedRevs debate, and why Jimbo fails

FlaggedRevs: The topic of the most heated debate that I have seen on Wikipedia. Those supporting are, IMHO, seem to be less emotional about it overall than those opposing. The real debate started with that big straw poll that generated, for the most part, emotional opposition and tentative support. It, IMO, also showed that FlaggedRevs will not be enabled here in the way that the Germans have. I think that [[Wikipedia:Flagged Protection]], one of the configuration proposals introduced during the poll, should be implemented if and only if consensus is reached on it. Of course, we all know that just over a week ago, Jimbo asked that FlaggedRevs be turned on without specifying any sort of configuration. He did ask that opponents of the trial that was voted on come up with a proposal, but that isn't happening. He said he wants FlaggedRevs to replace protection, but won't say if he supports Flagged Protection or something else. I believe that this debate will end sometime in the next month or two, with consensus for Flagged Protection to be used on semi-protected articles and BLPs. Thanks--Res2216firestar

Edit summary: In this debate, everyone fails.
